A friendly review for 'The Revelation of Reverend Jones', which was shown in a programme of short films recently.       '--- The Revelation of Reverend Jones, a piece written by cabaret artist Nigel Osner about a flamboyant gay priest who is outed to his congregation by the tabloids. This piece, written entirely in rhyming prose, is unashamedly tongue-in-cheek. Filmed on location in Swansea with a Welsh cast (and Osner in the starring role), the film is outrageous fun while also nodding (with a nudge and a wink) to poet Dylan Thomas.' We have recently made a short documentary about Nigel Osner's cabaret act. It is called 'Life, Undeath, the Whole Damn Thing', which was the title of his most recent show. Nigel talks about how he started to perform cabaret and reveals the inspiration for his lyrics and monologues. Glimpses of his live performance illustrate what he talks about. The documentary will be entered into a few film festivals. It will have its first showing at the Swansea Bay Film Festival in May. A new page will be added to the site soon.

'The Revelation of Reverend Jones' was shown at the Torino LGBT festival. Alas, despite the festival offering to put up Nigel and the director, volcanic ash meant they couldn't travel over. However, according to a member of the festival team: "I might say your short movie got quite a huge success. Some local radio programs talk about 'The Revelation of Reverend Jones' and the audience was satisfied indeed."
Well, you can't say better than that!
