Nigel Osner met Pat Garrett when she directed Goblins Dont Scare Us, a musical based on his childrens book Magic in Ravenswood. Pat then spent the next two years helping him develop his cabaret act.

Nigel was thinking of making a showreel of some of the characters in his cabaret songs, but Pat suggested using them as the basis of short films. She felt this would much more exciting and interesting. Pat came up with the underlying concepts for the two shorts made so far. In one he plays the main character and most of the incidental ones. As for the second, it includes a remarkable animatronic horse which Pat saw performing in Hastings, UK, where the two films were made. Both are continuing to be shown at film festivals around the world.
