Nigel Osner - Writer, lyricist, actor

For full details see www.nigelosner.com

Until 2005 Nigel concentrated on writing, composing lyrics and live performance.

In 1983 Heinemann published Magic in Ravenswood, Nigel’s children’s fantasy. Naomi Mitchison said in the The Times Educational Supplement: “-- good marks for Magic in Ravenswood --- All the characters are well-defined, the ravens of the wood being a nasty, tough crowd. There is enough irony to give it strength to deal with a traditional situation without going soft or silly.” Nigel adapted this into a children’s musical called Goblins Don’t Scare Us, writing the book and lyrics.

In the late 1990s he wrote the book and lyrics for Rock Heaven as a stage show. It has been showcased in London, including at the Pizza in the Park.

From 1998 to 2004 Nigel performed his own character based lyrics at venues including Pizza on the Park, Jermyn Street Theatre, King’s Head Theatre, Soho Theatre studio.

In 2002 he met Pat, who directed Goblins Don’t Scare Us for the New End Theatre. ‘this beguiling tale of bewitchment set in the distant kingdom of Ravenswood is certainly welcome in the midst of Cinderellas, Aladdins and Dick Whittingtons. It is refreshing to find a show inhabiting a more unfamiliar world.’ Mark Shenton The Stage. Goblins Don't Scare Us won a competition to be performed in the Clearspace new works festival in Delaware, USA, in November 2008.

Pat introduced him to the magic of film. Since 2005 he has acted in a number of short films:
