Nathan A Sheppard shot and directed his first film at the age of 14 years old with a borrowed Standard 8mm camera.At the age of 17, he got a job working as a camera assistant at the National Film School. He then worked as a trainee assistant film editor. After this, he worked for two years in London for a small film company making commercials, documentaries and editing two feature films. He worked as an assistant cameraman/editor/rostrum cameraman and also a production manager organizing shoots casting sessions etc. on about 150 projects. Since 1993, Nathan has worked as a freelance Director of Photography, and is very well established as a cameraman in the UK.
In 1993, Nathan directed and produced two programmes for Her Majesties Inland Revenue ( IRS). He was then commissioned by Creation records to produce, direct and shoot a music video for trendy British band St Etienne. The video got to No.1 in the British charts. The band came back to Nathan for their next single to be shot in Spain, and achieved the same level of success. Nathan continues to direct & shoot commercials and music promos. His feature film The Asylum was shot in the UK in 1999.
Nathan speaks fluent French, a small amount of Arabic and Spanish. He has filmed in the following countries, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Mali, Senegal, Gambia, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Antigua, Monserrat, Mexico, America, (Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago), France, Germany, Holland & Italy.
